
Jacob Mestad, MA, LADC
Jacob received his Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology through the University of St. Thomas, with a concentration in Co-Occurring Disorders. He works as a Program Therapist with both adults and adolescents facing a wide range of mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, and more. Prior to working at Reed Behavioral Health, Jacob served as a Shelter Coordinator and Case Manager in St. Paul, where he supported individuals experiencing homelessness and serious and persistent mental health issues. This experience deepened his commitment to providing accessible, empathetic, and person-centered care. His practice is dedicated to creating a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to explore their concerns and work toward meaningful change. His therapeutic practice incorporates evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). In his free time he enjoys hiking, video games, and playing with his dog, Lou.
