The Family Program at Reed Behavioral Health offers education about addiction, mental health, and recovery in a monthly format. It provides a space for individuals who have a loved one in recovery to process, learn, and become equipped to offer support. Each Family Night group session consists of a mix of psychoeducation, interactive activities, discussion, as well as Q & A.
RBH utilizes the Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT) approach to improve communication and boundary setting in family systems. This approach teaches positive reinforcement to encourage non-using behaviors. It analyzes behavior in the context of one’s life, which leads to increased empathy and understanding. When families and support systems are educated and equipped, they can become a valuable resource in the recovery process.
Family Night is held once a month (the first Monday of every month from 5:30-7:30 PM) at our Edina location for the loved ones of the clients at Reed Behavioral Health, as well as for anyone who has a loved one in recovery and is seeking support for themselves. Emma Johnson, MPS, LADC is our Family Program Coordinator. If you would like to RSVP for Family Night or have further questions regarding our Family Program, please call 763-292-2368.
